Marisol Cruz is the Latina Literary Lawyer, and a distinguished Miami-based attorney with a career built on a foundation of high-stakes litigation in Business (Civil) and Family Law. Having spent years in the courtroom, Marisol now leverages that “battle-tested” experience to provide sophisticated counsel in Florida Appeals, Business Transactions, and Publishing & Literary Law.
As a published fiction novelist, Marisol possesses an insider’s understanding of the creative world. This firsthand experience allows her to provide nuanced, peer-to-peer counsel to authors and publishers that few other attorneys can match.
Her reputation for legal strategy has made her a sought-after consultant for other legal professionals, who rely on her deep litigation background to strengthen their own cases and appeals. While Marisol no longer handles high-conflict litigation, she continues to accept select Family Law matters focused on strategic consulting and amicable resolution. She remains deeply dedicated to the field through her work as a Certified Family Mediator and Guardian Ad Litem. By combining her literary perspective with her appellate and transactional expertise, Marisol offers her clients a rare blend of creative empathy and rigorous legal precision.
Ms. Cruz received her law degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center where she graduated in the top ten of her class. Marisol completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where she double majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Before pursuing a law degree, she earned a Master’s degree in Italian Studies from Prescott College. Prior to becoming a lawyer and during her time in law school, Ms. Cruz worked as a paralegal and law clerk to criminal defense and civil litigation attorneys in all aspects of case and trial preparation. Ms. Cruz is fluent in spoken and written Spanish and Italian.
